David and Mike have been accused of being brothers and most of the time, that’s a pretty good thing. It’s a good thing they have been the best of friends since 1990 because it would be awful hard to work side by side if they didn’t have each other’s back. After graduating with a bachelor’s of science in education from Henderson State University in 1994, David was a secondary education teacher for 2 years in Texarkana, Arkansas. That’s when fate stepped in, in the form of a job offer from Bob Bearden in the spring of 1996. The rest as they say, is history.
David believes that as long as people want to deal with people, and a handshake and a man’s word mean something, then Steel Sales will continue to grow as it has the last 24 years. While working for Bob was truly a rewarding experience, David credits most of what he’s learned in his 28 years at Steel Sales to their customers. That learning continues today as David values the time he spends with his customers and making sure that Steel Sales continues to be known as the industrial distributor that cares. As long as Steel Sales does right by their customers, Steel Sales will continue to experience the steady, long term growth it’s seen for the last two decades.
